Chappapeela Sports Park and Hammond Eastside Magnet School recently partnered in an activity in preparation for the upcoming reopening of C.P. Mitchell Memorial Park in Hammond. Students participated in a "Help Us Design Our Community Playground" Contest by drawing a picture of what they would like to see included at the new playground coming to C.P. Mitchell Park. All participants received one free kids' meal from Raising Cane's Chicken Fingers.
Congratulations to Ashanta Daniels for submitting the most creative drawing and to Christiona Hogan for designing the most fun play space. Each of the winners was presented with a certificate and a $25 Target gift card by Ryan Barker, executive director of Chappapeela Sports Park.
